Galicia’s Digital Health in the NGEU 2021 Context

Alberto Fuentes Losada, General Secretary of the Galician Ministry of Health, presented the strategic healthcare projects, for which an investment of more than €1000M is planned to begin at the end of 2021:

• Research into pioneering treatments.
• Health and biomedical research development.
• Digital transformation.
• Diagnosis and surgical equipment modernization.
• Investment in hospital, primary health and mental health infrastructures.

Galicia seeks to create an “e-health area” which will centralize the provision of digital services and the access to AI, 5G and IoT tools to support clinical decision-making and augmented reality to professional training.

Innovative public procurement is planned to be used in tenders to be published by the end of 2021.
